Jonathan Harris creates computer programs that scour the Internet for unfiltered content and arranges this content into interesting and dynamic works of electronic art. The three projects he talks about in this video include: We Feel Fine, Yahoo! Time Capsule and Universe.

We Feel Fine
The We Feel Fine project attempts to capture the human element of the web by searching the world's newly posted blog entries for occurrences of the phrases "I feel" and "I am feeling". When it finds one of these phrases, it records the full sentence and identifies the "feeling" expressed in that sentence Also, the age, gender, and geographical location of the author is often saved along with the sentence, as is the local weather conditions at the time the sentence was written.

Yahoo! Time Capsule
The time capsule was designed to take a fingerprint of the world in 2006. It was divided into 10 themes:

  • Love: What do you love?
  • Anger: What makes you angry?
  • Sadness: What makes you sad?
  • Faith: What do you believe in?
  • Beauty: What's beautiful?
  • Fun: What's fun?
  • Past: What do you remember?
  • Hope: What is your wish?
  • Now: Describe you world?
  • You: Who are you?

The Time Capsule is closed until March 2, 2020, when they will reopen it for Yahoo!'s 25th anniversary.

Universe
Universe is a system that supports the exploration of personal mythology, allowing each of us to find our own constellations, based on our own interests and curiosities.
